Hey guys! This is sadly the final installment of our John Muir Trail gear guide! Things will go back to their usual speed here on the blog, but we’d love to hear if there are any topics that you’re interesting in us covering in the future.
It’s been nearly a month since we completed the John Muir Trail… I have no idea where the time has gone! This is the final installment of our written and video log from the trail! We still have two more gear guides, food and extras, coming out later this week and next week!
Hey Friends! Thank you so much for all of the great feedback about our JMT videos and posts! It’s been a blast reliving the experience as we prepped all of these for you all! This is the second installment of the daily log which is a blog post containing photos paired with day 8 from my written journal, as well as the video daily logs that we recorded while we were on trail. Enjoy day 6-10!
Hey guys! We spent so much time doing research on our gear for the JMT, so we figured it would be helpful if we put together a video detailing our gear list, why we brought it, and our thoughts on it post trail!
Hey Friends! We’re back from the John Muir Trail and forever changed for the better! Over the next few weeks we’re going to roll out some blog posts containing photos paired with select days from my written journal from on the trail, and video daily logs that we recorded on trail. This first one will cover day 0-5! Enjoy!
Who doesn’t love a good hack to make life a little easier?! Life on the road can be a challenge when living in such a small space. Finding little hacks can make things that much easier by being solutions to everyday problems.
As some of you may know Owen and I attended Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Az this year! Though we’ve attended Expo East, nothing can hold a candle to the size of Expo West. We were invited to attend with Main Line Overland to show off our rig in their booth.
It’s no secret that it’s been a weird year for weather. In fact, just two weekends ago we were in Colorado and got snow! Just a few weeks ago we were checking the snowpack report for the Eastern Sierra’s and found that it was 180%+ higher than average.
The month starts off with us leaving Joshua Tree NP, CA and headed out towards the coast. A friend of our who we had been with that weekend gave us a call to tell us that he came across one of the last sections of the super bloom out by his friends house in a residential area and that we should check it out.
Owen and I will be carrying separate systems for the trail to be sure that we’re capturing our experience to the best of our ability without duplicating anything or overloading ourselves with unnecessary gear.
We’re just over a month away from starting the John Muir Trail! If you’re not familiar with the trail, it’s a 211 mile section of the Pacific Crest Trail that runs from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney, in California.
We get frequently get asked how we make money on the road so we can afford to travel full time. If you have been with us for a while you probably already know the basics, but we thought it would be fun to put together a video detailing our business.
Hello my friends, MAK here! It’s been a while since we’ve had a month on the road recap. This is a particularly exciting one because it’s our first being in our new rig/home/office and with our cat Luna!
Over the past few years I’ve started to clean house in an attempt to make our lives have less of an impact on the earth and be healthier for us. I’ve systematically started taking on different products and processes and finding ways to do them cleaner!
How did we get here? This brand spankin’ new Tundra with a brand spankin’ new Four Wheel Camper is a far cry from our vanlife roots. There’s no short answer to this question so we’ll do our best to explain in this little essay (MLA format and all).
As always welcome back! It’s hard to believe that this is the last post documenting 2018. It was one hell of a year for us and it felt good starting the last month of the year off by finding some warmer weather in some familiar places.
Hello everyone! As you all know we sold Amelia shortly after we completed her eight month long build. We wanted to pass along the final videos in the build series as well as her final tour, and a full explanation for why we sold her.
The beginning of the month looking back feels like a blur of work all day and working out way west in the evenings. By now fall was in full swing and the weather was starting to be cold and rainy more consistently.
After a long hiatus from making build videos we’re back! Work has prevented me from getting around to editing all the videos of Amelia’s build but the holiday break is giving me an opportunity to jump back in.
