Join Us on a Trip to Namibia!

If you’ve been around here for a while, you might know that we've hosted a handful of group trips in the past. One to Peru, one to Patagonia and one to Alaska. When we put on the first trip to Peru, we really didn't know what to expect. We'd never been on a group trip and didn't know the value, if there was any, to a trip of that nature. However, we were motivated by the idea that some people may feel intimidated to wade into international travel on their own. Perhaps we could help make it more approachable?! We launched the trip and crossed our fingers. We arrived in Peru very nervous and with the hope that we'd made the right decision to do this.

Why We Love Group Trips

We quickly learned that we had indeed, made the right choice! Traveling with those incredible people was one of the most rewarding experiences we've had since hitting the road. Sharing a new culture, sights, sounds and tastes with others is a special bonding experience that makes fast friends. These group trips, every single time, have resulted in long lasting and meaningful friendships.

Additionally, having a local guide with you is invaluable. Their presence provides so much insight into life, culture and food. So often when we are traveling alone, we have so many questions and our only outlet is cold, AI generated Google answers. With a guide we get our questions answered by someone with real experience. Someone who can describe the way something tastes, or the why an animal is behaving a certain way. Every guide we’ve had has been a joy to be around and its truly one of the best parts about these trips.

Finally, not HAVING TO PLAN! Its amazing what happens when the logistics of a trip are no longer on your plate. All you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself. It allows you to be in the moment in a way that is rarely afforded in day to day life. Its refreshing and rewarding to just be there with the sole purpose of just marinating in the experience with each other.

Why Namibia?

Our last group trip was to Alaska two and a half years ago. We decided to take a break from group trips because life was starting to get crazy and unpredictable. However, we still find ourselves longing to have another experience like Peru, Patagonia and Alaska. We want a new place and we want to go there with incredible people. Then out of nowhere we received an email from Trova letting us know that a new trip was being offered to Namibia!

Namibia has been high on our bucket list for a very long time. Years ago we started watching this live cam of a watering hole on the edge of the Namib Desert. The wildlife is so unique and the desert so picturesque. There are numerous landscapes we’ve dreamed of seeing with our own eyes like the 300 meter tall sand dunes. To say this trip is a dream come true, would be a gross understatement. And don't get me started on how many animals this will help us check off our life list...
