Embracing the Unknown | Meant To Be EP 06

In the final episode of Meant to Be we spend some time in Tofino on Vancouver Island before crossing back into the United States to head to North Cascades National Park. There we are met by fires and uncertainty regarding our future.

Back on Vancouver Island, we were settled in to traveling with Gon Dirtin. We found a lovely campsite right along a river and couldn’t help but spend a few days there enjoying the scenery and the river.

From that spot, we made our way further south towards Tofino. However, we made a few more stops along the way. One in particular was nearby a beautiful lake and we once again spent a few days basking in the environment.

We did eventually make it to Tofino. We snagged a campsite at a park and spent a few days by the ocean catching up on work, body surfing and beach combing. It was a great way to wind down our time in Canada and with Karissa and Linhbergh.

Probably the cutest thing I’ve ever seen

After crossing the border back into the United States we turned the truck towards North Cascades National Park. Unfortunately, fires had broken out near and inside the park and things weren’t looking good. Roads were closed and there was no indication of when things might get under control. We decided to stop a safe distance from the park and camp for a few days to see how things progressed. Conditions continued to worsen and we were forced to make the call to abandon our plans and get away from the fires and smoke.

This summer was filled with ups and downs. Through it all we had to remain adaptive and that helped make it be an amazing, adventure filled trip. Being flexible and adaptive is something that we have grown to be more and more comfortable with over the years. We’re starting to lean into those set backs and pivots. It’s our way of embracing the unknown— because sometimes the magic of mishaps is that they lead you to exactly where you’re meant to be.

We’ve used the same set of Eagle Creek Pack-It cubes for the last 8.5 years to store all of our clothes in our many vehicles. Eagle Creek has long been our go to brand for all things packing both inside the camper and for away from truck travel! Use code BFN15 for 15% off!

Our life runs on Redarc! We’re able to work from the road because of the incredibly complex power management system and solar panels from Redarc. You’d be hard pressed to find a better power management system anywhere.
