Welcome back for episode 6 of Todo Bien. This blog post, for the first time in this series, will cover some things that we didn’t cover in the video!

After we parted ways with our friend Kirk, we headed south along the coast and came across the small town of Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos. It’s known for its whale watching, this small port town is one of Baja’s premiere places for see Ballenas Grises, or Grey Whales.

San Ignacio is a must stop if you are making the journey south on MEX 1. There is plenty of camping near both the Oasis and the towns square. We always stay in a camp ground close to the square because they have showers and we can easily walk into town for dinner.

With the bomb cyclone pummeling the Pacific Coast, it brought in cold, and wet weather. With a gloomy looking forecast, we decided to pick up and head over towards to the Sea of Cortez in Bahia de Los Angeles.

In our finale installment of A Long Time Coming, we fly over to the fabled Isle Royale National Park to hike across the island, of which we've been wanting to see for as long as we can remember.

We move yet further east and into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to explore Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! We hike a 42 miles through Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. However, we add a little twist by packrafting a few sections of the trail to take full advantage of the beautiful and calm waters of Lake Superior!

We transition from the hot plains of South Dakota up to the US and Canadian Border to explore the extensive waterway of Voyageurs National Park by canoe for a few days of camping on a remote island. As well as a stop in Apostle Islands National Lake Shore to check out the otherworldly rock formations that make the area famous!

In our second installment of A Long Time Coming, we venture in Badlands National Park and cross paths with our first road trip that lead to our current life on the road. Badlands National Park has always had a special place in our hearts, and we are curious if it was everything we remembered it being.

In our second installment of A Long Time Coming, we drop into South Dakota to explore the rugged Black Hills, Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park. This part of South Dakota often goes overlooked but is home to a dense collection of incredible wild spaces just waiting to be explored.

This is the start of our grand adventure into the Northern Midwest. We make an unexpected stop in Makoshika State Park before making our way into Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Owen and I have both been feeling a visit was long overdue. However this time, we wanted to see the park for the first time in the winter under a blanket of snow. In order to hike in the snow, we needed to pick up a little extra gear. We hatched the idea to rent some snowshoes from REI, so we could hike in the snow out to see the Giant Sequoia trees of the Mariposa Grove.
