Welcome back for episode 6 of Todo Bien. This blog post, for the first time in this series, will cover some things that we didn’t cover in the video!

After we parted ways with our friend Kirk, we headed south along the coast and came across the small town of Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos. It’s known for its whale watching, this small port town is one of Baja’s premiere places for see Ballenas Grises, or Grey Whales.

San Ignacio is a must stop if you are making the journey south on MEX 1. There is plenty of camping near both the Oasis and the towns square. We always stay in a camp ground close to the square because they have showers and we can easily walk into town for dinner.

With the bomb cyclone pummeling the Pacific Coast, it brought in cold, and wet weather. With a gloomy looking forecast, we decided to pick up and head over towards to the Sea of Cortez in Bahia de Los Angeles.

This is one of the least talked about topics for extended travel: How to pick and pack clothes for four season travel. In this blog post I will be sharing some of the unique challenges of packing for four seasons and our long standing organizational strategy. As well as our full packing list of clothes that we’ve been carrying since being on the road.

In our finale installment of A Long Time Coming, we fly over to the fabled Isle Royale National Park to hike across the island, of which we've been wanting to see for as long as we can remember.

We move yet further east and into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to explore Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! We hike a 42 miles through Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. However, we add a little twist by packrafting a few sections of the trail to take full advantage of the beautiful and calm waters of Lake Superior!

We transition from the hot plains of South Dakota up to the US and Canadian Border to explore the extensive waterway of Voyageurs National Park by canoe for a few days of camping on a remote island. As well as a stop in Apostle Islands National Lake Shore to check out the otherworldly rock formations that make the area famous!

In our second installment of A Long Time Coming, we venture in Badlands National Park and cross paths with our first road trip that lead to our current life on the road. Badlands National Park has always had a special place in our hearts, and we are curious if it was everything we remembered it being.

In our second installment of A Long Time Coming, we drop into South Dakota to explore the rugged Black Hills, Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park. This part of South Dakota often goes overlooked but is home to a dense collection of incredible wild spaces just waiting to be explored.

This is the start of our grand adventure into the Northern Midwest. We make an unexpected stop in Makoshika State Park before making our way into Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for new, up and coming brands making outdoor gear for the modern lady who likes to spend a lot of time outdoors, because to be honest… I feel like women’s outdoor clothing often misses the mark. Recently I got my hands on some pieces from Alder’s collection from our friends over at REI to test during my South American travels to see if they’re filling the void in women’s outdoor clothing!

Owen and I have both been feeling a visit was long overdue. However this time, we wanted to see the park for the first time in the winter under a blanket of snow. In order to hike in the snow, we needed to pick up a little extra gear. We hatched the idea to rent some snowshoes from REI, so we could hike in the snow out to see the Giant Sequoia trees of the Mariposa Grove.

In this video/post I take you through the basic gear and how to pack for packrafting. Though this will focus on packing for a packrafting trip that requires you to backpack in, it’ll be helpful for anyone wanting to learn gear basics.

I have been so excited about this blog post because it’s a trip recap from our FIRST EVER packrafting trip. Not only is it exciting because it was the first time we got to try our hand at packrafting in the backcountry but it also was a trip into one of our favorite places in North America, Escalante National Monument!

A lot of people are camping these days and I’m sure that is only fuel to the fire of those who’re wanting to get into it. If you have a car, you already have the biggest piece of equipment needed to go camping. So today, we’re going to get into the details of how to go car camping!

We’re so excited about this video/blog post! Before parting ways with our dear friends for the summer we wanted to go on one last trip together so we got to work finding the perfect spot for our adventure. Once we had zeroed in on an area, we left the desert with our friends Karissa & Linhbergh and Peter & Shruthi!
